FIRST DATA EXTENDS ATM MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO GERMANY New Segment Complements Current Business
Frankfurt, 16 May 2008
First Data Corp, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment services, is now launching its offering around ATM Management services in Germany. With this step, the company complements its current business activities with a further segment. First Data is one of the largest ATM operators worldwide, switching 300,000 ATMs and driving over 125,000.
The new offer addresses banks wishing to outsource their cost-intensive ATM network to a specialized supplier as well as retailers who want to offer in-store ATM services to their customers. First Data’s scope of services covers the whole value chain: from the development of a merchant-specific ATM strategy to site-related functionalities. In general, clients can choose from four different service levels. In addition to transaction processing, a client can choose to charge First Data with the device ownership, the daily operation of the ATM, and even with the cash management and the insurance of the ATMs.
Beyond cash dispensing, ATMs can deliver additional functionalities, e.g. topping-up prepaid cards, purchasing tickets, interactive advertising, cross-selling additional products and services. These services can improve the operational efficiency and profitability of the bank or the retail customer.
