Goals of successful fraud prevention There are two main questions behind combating card fraud:
How do I filter out the very small number of fraudulent attempts from the millions of genuine authorisation requests, and how do I block them without hindering the bona fide transactions?
These questions can be used to derive the four most important goals of successful prevention systems:
- Suspicious transactions must be recognised already during the authorisation process
- The number of false alarms must be reduced to an absolute minimum
- New fraud patterns must be recognised as quickly as possible
- A response to new fraud patterns must be implemented as quickly as possible.
Improved security through real-time prevention
IRIS® is a powerful prevention system which attains all these goals. It processes inbound authorisation requests in real-time. The risk of fraud is assessed and an appropriate response generated. The system attributes its exceptionally high hit rate and low level of false alarms to highly complex behavioural pattern-recognition technologies. As an integrated solution, it also has components for investigating suspicious cases and supports a full analysis and simulation environment.
Market leader through experience and continual improvement
IRIS® is based on more than 10 years’ experience in fraud prevention. IRIS® is the most modern system in its field. It is permanently upgraded as a result of day-to-day, hands-on work in the field of fraud prevention.
IRIS® currently protects over 120 million customers of European financial service providers from fraud, e.g. Crédit Agricole and Deutsche Bank credit cardholders and HBOS plc debit cardholders.
